Editorial Policy
This page explains the standards we hold ourselves to at Locality Travel USA. It applies to every guide on the site.
Purpose
Our aim is to help people plan trips in the United States with accurate, practical and honestly presented information.
Research & sourcing
- We rely on primary and official sources where possible: state and city tourism boards, visitor bureaus, national and state park services, event organisers and venue websites.
- We prefer specific, checkable details – names, locations, seasons and approximate costs – over vague praise.
- Where a guide relies on a particular source, we link to it so readers can verify it.
Accuracy, updates & archived content
- Each guide shows when it was last updated. Prices, opening hours and event dates change; we ask readers to confirm details with the official source before travelling.
- Time-sensitive event guides are clearly labelled when their year has passed. Archived guides carry a notice and are not promoted on the site.
- We review our most-read pages regularly and update them when we learn something has changed.
Corrections
If you find an error, email info@localitytravel.com with the page address and the correction. We investigate each report and update the page when the correction is confirmed.
Independence from advertisers and partners
- Advertising is clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial content.
- Affiliate links may earn us a commission, but commercial relationships do not decide which places we feature or how we describe them. See the affiliate & advertising disclosure.
- We do not sell positive coverage.
Images
We use images we have the right to publish. If you believe an image on this site infringes your rights, contact us and we will review it promptly.
